Last month’s ReadyMade had a great feature that I think would resonate with a lot of artists & designers. In response to our current economic climate and in the tradition of the WPA, (the Works Progress Administration was a national initiative during the first Great Depression that helped mobilize the country through state-sponsored art), they enlisted the help of several artists to design posters relevant to today. Not only are these pieces gorgeous, but as we’ve seen from the now legendary Shepard Fairey poster, art for a cause is already at work and more effective than ever. Read ReadyMade’s article here, also includes free downloads of each poster.
