Why We Have Fewer Women Leaders
I’m no stranger to TED talks, but this one is by far the most incredible one I’ve seen. Given by Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, it goes hand-in-hand with a similarly incredible piece on her in the New Yorker. It’s the best and most honest view of women’s roles in the home and workplace that I’ve seen so far in our recent gender discussions. Better still, she has ingenious insights on what to do about it all. I feel like I can do anything. Sheryl, girlfriend, you are awesome.
Ladies, my hand is up. Is yours?

Ah, so so good. She gave a fantastic graduation speech at Barnard college that was floating around a month or so ago, but this is much more powerful.
on July 12th, 2011 at 4:22 pmThat was such a great talk. I’m keeping my hand up from now on :)

on July 12th, 2011 at 6:45 pmThanks for posting this great TED talk. I sat there nodding at almost every observation Sandberg spoke of. It’s speeches like this one that need to enter every company (worldwide). I think sometimes women need people like Sheryl to shine a little light on how we’ve been living. The great thing about this speech is that she refused to place the blame on anyone else, like most articles tend to do when talking about equality in the workforce. I like that it was empowering and achievable; three small changes that can better a woman’s success. I’ve got my hand up for that!
